Top down & Bottom up assembly

now sure what you mean by top down assembly, But if it is top down design than thats a different method.





Bottom up is where you desgin the parts and then assmeble them. top down is where you create the assmebly and "design functions"and then allow the parts to be create as they relate to thefunction
 
Top-down is a big functionality of UG. For instanve you can define a control structure and manage the bottom files associatively from the top control structure. So if you are doing a design that you always change and derive new models, it is very handy. But you must be very carefull while defining the control structure, it is an expert work.
