Hello,

I know this is a SW forum but since most places also use AutoCAD I thought I would ask anyways

Sometimes we get AutoCAD dxf files that we cannot open, giving us a "Proxy" error at the command prompt, any idea what this all means in genral ......??

Thanks.

1. what version of SW are you running?

2. what version of Acad was the dxf generated in?

I've seen and even created DXF files that I couldn't open because they were generated as a file type that didnt exist when the solidworks I was using was around. i.e. create a 2007 dxf and open it in a SW97.

good luck...

The Autocad dxf is back saved to a v2000 from 2005, and even Mastercam cannot open it. Mastercam gives chain errors, and autocad gives a proxy error.

Its strange because some of these file do open.

Thanks for the input!
