Reducing Number of Faces

Hello,



I am new to this forum and new to SolidWorks. What I'm having a problem
with is reducing the number of faces in part surface modelling. I get
the part sometimes with 500 faces or more and the machinist is having
problems. I want to reduce the part to a single face if possible but
recreating faces using lofting and guide curves doesn't give me a nice
smooth surface. Any help would be appreciated,

I used to have a job where we had people machine our files using mastercam. I had to reduce the number of faces many times. If you could send a File, I could look at it and get back to you. There is no one click answer or a reduce faces button, but I have learned quite a few different ways to get the number of surfaces down. If i figure anything out, I can share it with you, but each file is different and works in different ways.
