Will your model topple over or not?

Anybody knows how to find out other than doing the math, if you model will topple over because its center of gravity is too far from the base?

or example, if you have a base with a very long arm...at what arm length will the model topple over?

Any ideas? Solidworks or Cosmosworks approach...

Thanks!

Whether your model falls over is not related to how far 'up' the centre of gravity is from the base. More importantly it's whether a line drawn vertically downwards from the CoG falls outside of the base if the part is tilted. Easy with thing with square bases. Not so easy with irregular shaped bases because you then have to determine which two point on the base the part will pivot about when it is being tilted.

Agree. Moreover if you design the base with lets say 'extended supports' it changes the way the part will react. That is why...can SW figure this out? I thought maybe the Cosmosworks Drop Analysis can do it by dropping the part at a infinitly small distance from the floor. I know it will tell you the impact stress amongst other things, but will it simulate the 'inbalance' of the part?!
