Hi everyone,
From an assembly drawing, I'm exporting the BOM to a *.txt file with the 'Save as...' option. Sometimes, a person with just database access needs to update the BOM and will update the *.txt file. That person can also make the the *.txt file read only so that if the someone tries to re-export the file from Solidworks, it won't write over the database changes.
But, and this is my problem, if an engineer thenupdates the Solidworks file and tries tore-export an updated BOM from Solidworks and overwrite the existing *.txt file, the *.txt file does not let you know in Solidworks that the file was NOT overwritten because it was read only. I just need something in Solidworks to let the engineer know that his changes weren't accepted and that he needs to explore and fix.
Thanks
