I'm currently experiencing problems with part files being redefined. As anexample:
In assembly A I have partfile X (which should reside on my part server)
Assembly A resides in project folder AA
Assembly A is a sub-assembly of an overall assembly that resides in Folder BB.
In folder BB there is also a partfile X (which I know is wrong so I will place this partfile in a archive folder inside folder BB so that it is not found)
When I use Solidworks explorer and load assembly A I use the replace command for partfile X and try to point to my part server and it comes back with the message: "Circular reference detected on file partfile X.sldprt"
I'm using solidworks 2004 and my file isn't actually named partfile X (it's SS-16-RB-4.sldprt if it makes any difference.
Thanks in advanced,
Steve
