surface design and drafting

hi all
i tried to design some models usings surfaces, but when i take the same in a drafting view i am unable to give dimensions for them can u plz let me know how to give dimensions for them , which can later be show to our vendor,

i am new to solid works & i just started to learn drafting in sd


there is a command which name is model items which gives a dimension that you applied for actual modeling


annotation-model items


and tell me are you from which part of india

This problem can be because the parametric curves you used for the
surfaces do not lie normal or purpendicular to the drawing view.
Thus no dimensions will display automaticly.



Typical problem with surfacing. You may have to go to
auxilary views. Or put a note in your drawing that CAD data is
for CNC and not to use the drawing to create tooling.
