Automated template?

marcher

New member
I am looking for drawing software functionality that would allow for design of a template drawing that is changeable based on data inputs, such as numbers that might be dimensions or angles, etc.

For instance, could a dwg file that is a template be accessed and the user be prompted to input a series of dimensions (inputs customized / specified by the user)? Thus, based on a model template, various data inputs would produce various drawings. Is there anything out there that does this in a simple way?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks!

look into the details of "pro-program" functionality...it can at least be used to define what is shown and not shown from a family table part for the 2d drawing. It might be possible to drive feature dimensions from the 2d using relations and parameters. that might get messy if the 2d dimension change causes failures in the 3d part features.

cheers,

M

One more question.

Can the Pro/Program software generate an engineer drawing from the inputs?

thanks
