WF4.0 Install on Windows 7- 64 bit

Hello,


I am trying to install WF4.0 (datecode M010) on a new Windows 7 64 bit machine. A major issue...ProE won't run.


I have the licence pack installed and have gone through all install steps. When I try to run ProE from the desktop icon, or the Pro E .exe file, I get an error message as follows:


ERROR: Unable to launch ProEngineer because no valid configuration (.psf) files were found. Please run "ptcsetup" from you installation "bin" directory and create a PTC startup file. This is needed for ProEngineer to launch successfully.


My maintenance contract expired 3 years ago and do not have the money to reactivate it, so I stuck with this version.


Does anyone out there have any suggestions for me to get this up and running? Any help you can give is much appreciated.

Try running setup in compatibility mode.

Compatibility mode should work, choose Windows NT, but it mightrun very slow

Run ptcsetup from bin folder and follow the steps

Run it in compatibility mode for Xp service pack 2 and also run as administrator.
