View Scale, colon format entry

Is there any way to enter the scale of a view in colon format? eg. 1:12?
I have view_scale_format set to ratio colon. I've tried different settings for view_scale_denominator.
The view's default entry box only allows decimal scale settings. So I would try enter 0.08333 to try get the 1:12 scale show up. But that doesnt work either.

Setting the view_scale_denominator to 12 should work. You should be able to enter a value as 1/12 which will give 1:12 but not in the form 1:12.

You must make sure that the denominator you choose can be divided by 12.
E.g. if you choose 60 as denominator following scales are possible
1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:5, 1:6,1:10, 1:12, 1:15, 1:20, 1:30, 1:60
But if you choose 10 e.g. only
1:1, 1:2, 1:5, 1:10 will be possible.

Hope this helps.

The standard for drawing scales is multiples of 2, such as the following forms:

1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1/1 (full), 2/1, 4/1, 8/1, etc. Multiples of three (such as 12/1 or 60/1) aren't commonly used, and are in violation of some drawing standards.

ISO only allows multiples of 2, 5 & 10. I get creative and use 4 sometimes as it's a multiple of 2 but that's not what they intend. We bought a product line from another company & they used anything they felt like: 7, 21 etc. very weird.
