Text override

Hello,

I am trying to override some driven dimensions, and I double click on the text, and that puts me in the "dimension properties". I then select the "dimension text" tab. I then put an "S" where the "D" is and I type text in the "Name Location" at the bottom. When I put a dimension in that box it gives me an error. But when I put text in there it allows it to change.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

For created dimensions replacing the D with an S will show the symbol of the dimension, i.e. if the dimension is add1, the drawing will show add1 instead of the dimension. If you replace the D with an O, the drawing will show any added text without the dimension. As an example:

Dimension before Change

2X &D TEST

Shows

2X 1.500 TEST

2X &O TEST will show:

2X TEST

2X &S TEST will show:

2X add1 TEST

note the two spaces between the 2X and TEST in the &O example.
