Symbols showing dimensions

Hi All,

Any offers of help on how to create a symbol that shows dimensions?

I have made a dxf of a part of a drawing which has dimensions.

I cut and paste this part of the drawing into the symbol creating place, so far so good.

But when I load in the symbol the dimensions are gone.

Is there a way to "explode" the dimensioning as like with draft entities?

Thanks.

I believe you created a dxf and then to be able to copy the geometry and dimensions you opened the DXF.

So when you open the DXF file in PRO-E a window will apear asking you what type to import the dxf, part, assy. drw. You choose DRW and another window will apear like below where you select "as separate entities". And now you select all you want to copy and paste into the symbol area. And everything should be OK.

Thanks, I did do this but the text gets broken down to hundreds of lines.

Plus the dimension line still goes.

This is a symbol that I made now and inserted in my drawingand the dimension lines are visible, for both linear and ordinate:

Maybe it's something at your end.

And my dimension text when I open the DXF it's not broken, which is strange because yesterday when I alsotried this it was broken into hundreds.
