Surface Intersection

I am working on modeling a helical surface. (Not a
helical sweep). I am creating an intersection with two
surfaces and then re-creating that intersection multiple
times along a CNC path. After creating this series of
intersections, I am trying to link a surface to these
intersection curves. A major issue I am running into is
that I cannot specify points on the intersection curve. I
am limited to using only internal features of the curve.
I would rather place datum points on the curve using the
ratio feature in the datum point definition, but my
surface will not regenerate. When I use the internal
features of the intersection, the surface will regenerate
correctly.

Does anybody know how the intersection is defined "behind
the scenes" in PRO E. Is there a way that I can tell
datum points to attach themselves to only certain points
along the intersection curve? An issue I have noticed is
that as the CNC path changes or other features in my
model change, the nature of the intersection changes and
my model fails. If I knew how the intersection was
defined, I think I would have more luck creating my
surface.
