Sunmicro vs. Intel

Our company is going to purchase new 64bit workstations and i wonder if which is better to use for WF2.0 Sunmicro or Intel processors?

Sun uses AMD processors on their windows machines, so you are deciding between AMD and Intel processors.


Both processors are good and certified by PTC. Here is a link for the supported patforms for pro/E Wf2

Make sure to get a cerified machine so you will not running to problems as far as running pro/E. that is more important

Sun workstations with AMD processors get very high ratings in speed tests. Only thing better are some hand builts with overclocked CPU's (last time I checked, could be slightly different now). Anyway, definately go AMD.

Thanks guys, now we can decide to get AMD processors... by the way has anyone tried to use the new Nvidia Quadro FX4500 and FX5500 graphics hardware? will it work perfectly with WF2.0? also which is better Sun Ultra 40 or Sun Java W2100z?
