Standard Parametric data with model tree?

devouring

New member
Dear All,

I am currently searching for a soem way how to transfer a part from mechanical desktop 2006 to Pro/e wildfire 2 , with the model tree and features.

Does anyone know of a standard format which incorporates model history tree and is exchangable to other CAD systems?

P.S. I have already used STEP but the features and hsitory tree where not imported in Pro/e. And i need them.

Thank you,

Franklin

You mean there is no way how to get a part in Pro/e with history tree?!

Andthere is no standard format for parametric models yet?

You can TRANSLATE solid models, but the feature tree is system dependent and does not transfer.

There are a few companies that make custom translators thaat will basically disect your model and reconstruct it in the new system. they are expenseive and IMHO not worth the money unless you are doing thousnads of translations a year.
