Springs, belts?

SWDADA

New member
how can I add springs and belts in an assembly? I would like them to behave the way they would in the real world, ie; I do not want them to remain rigid for example, the spring should expand and contract when constrained on one side and a force applied on the other

Look into flexible components for springs.

I'll have to think a little bit on what you could do for
belts.

If its a chain you could assemble the chain links as a
slot followers on a curve and it would run like the
"real" world.

Well chains and belts do the same thing fundamentally but when you analyze a comples system requiring work in to details the differences between xhains and belts become important

How do you plan to utilize the "real" belt. Mechanism
design? dynamics? accurate drawing views? Dynamic
dragability? Regeneration updating only?

Try to clarify your reasonings and a path to the
solution will be more evident.

If you need the belt to adapt to the pulley diameter, you can define it with a perimeter dimension.
I did this for geting automatically the required axis distance, but never tried to assamble them flexible with the pulley diameter as measurement.
