Simplified Rep can’t redefine greyed out?

Hi I am using simplified reps a lot more now in my WF3. I also have PDMLink 9.0.

I have a problem with some models some times where I cannot edit the simp rep. I can activate the simp reps but when I right click to redefine, the word redefine is replaced by a greyed out "save". In the edit drop down, redefine is greyed out.

What is going on? This does not happen all the time.

Under what conditions are simplified reps not editable? I know you can have problems with an active part in assembly.

I suspect it is a relationship between PDMLink and PROE but that is a guess. Sometimes I try to edit before I check out. Then I check out but it is still a problem. I also erase and re open but it is the same. It affects all models the same when it happens even ones I have edited yesterday.

I restarted PROE and it worked.

I looked at the ptcstatus and the PROE license looked regular. (We do have one PROE license for Mechanica only with many features turned off but I don't think it was used. )

Are you usingFamily Tables? I think that simp rep options are greyed out on instances?
