Roughing and finishing at diff .levels

hay all


I want to make a roughing operation for a cavity milling but I want to go to a certain dept and then continue with another tool from this depth to another depth





and the same in fininshing





Can any one help????

I have just had the very same requirement while machining a cavity tool. Create a datum plane at the first tool depth. Then a window from the top surface to the datum plane for your first tool and a window from the datum plane to the cavity bottom for your second tool.

You can use the cutlevel option i think under cavity milling...set the cutlevel depth to the required value then go ahead.
