Does anyone think it would be useful if Pro/E could give you an approximate time for how long a render is going to take? I've had some renders recently which have taken 5hrs to complete - running on a Pentium Xeon dual CPUworkstation with 4Gb of RAM. It seems to be the antialiasing option (when set to a very low threshold) and light scatter options which seem to takemost of the time to compute. It would be useful to know approximately how long a render is going to take depending on the settings. This way you can alter them to get a render in the timescale that you want or at least have a good idea of how long it's going to take when everything's set for high quailty images.
Incidently, why is Lightworks used for the rendering when there are far better rendering engines available for the ARX rendering?
What do people think about putting in a request to PTC?
