Rename Part

Hi,

I have inherited some parts from a designer using some PDM system (I'm not sure which, as I have little experience with PDM systems). My problem is that now I am working on this project and the original designer is out of the picture... I need to rename some parts, but when I try rename the part in Pro/e Part mode, I am denied permission and told that the model can only be renamed in the PDM application. Is there anyway around this? Thanks a lot.

let_proe_rename_pdm_objects yes
