read parameter without Proe

I have an urgent need to find a way to read \ write parameters in proe files without using proe.

Possible that there is no way?
Any suggestion is welcome, it's just the file structure proe, or an ActiveX or two lines of code c.

Can't you use a text/hex editor to edit the parameter values?
(I used this once to get rid of ghosts which got created due to a ProE bug when I redefined an external copygeometry)

You probably can't add parameters this way though ...
