I convert many Pro/E drawings into AutoCAD.

My problem is that you also export a lot of Layers in the same process. I have just upgraded my Pro/E and have lost the way in which I managed this previously. All I can remberis Idid it inthe config.pro file.

For example:

Layer 1......ALL AXIS

Layer 2......ALL FEATURES

LAYER 3.....ALL HIDDEN

Does anyone haveany ideaswith this?

Hi
We use te following config options and file for coverting ProE to ACAD
Use them for example

in config.pro
dxf_export_mapping_file C:\ptc\configs\dxf_export.pro
use_export_2d_dialog yes
dxf_export_format 2000
intf2d_out_acad_text_align as_is
dxf_out_drawing_scale no
intf2d_out_enhanced_ents spline_only
intf2d_out_pnt_ent yes
intf2d_out_acad_mtext yes
intf2d_out_open_log_window no
intf2d_fit_incompatible_data yes
intf2d_out_cgm_ver 3

And the export mapping file:

Hello all, many thanks for your contributions.

Borso, what you have suggested is exactly what I'm trying to achieve.

Problem is though, some of the layers have no obejects (lines etc.). Some of the layers, like the Axis, put centrelines & the holes on one layer. This is exactly what I dont want, it's too much cleanup time in AutoCAD.

The "map_color" seems to work fine. However, "map_layer" & "def_layer" don't seem to work that well atall.

Is there anyone else out there, who has a dxf_export.pro filethat may be of any use for me?

How do you manage fonts in Pro/E and AutoCAD? When exporting baseline font to AutoCAD and using different text widths, AutoCAD drawing explodes the text all over the drawing. I know the fastest solution would be to stroke text, but then DWG files are enormous.

The easiest way I know to create a DWG from Pro/E is file, save a copy, on the drop down pick DWG. You could also use file, save a copy, DXF.

Don't you want the line

dxf_out_drawing_scale

set to yes instead of no so that it transfers the scale to the dxf file?

As well one question I am wondering about is the data transfer for the different version of dxf that is available. I usually use the 2000 version as well but I'm wondering if the 2004 or 2007 is better < http-equiv="Content-" content="text/; charset=utf-8">< name="ProgId" content="Word.">< name="Generator" content="Microsoft Word 11">< name="Originator" content="Microsoft Word 11">

compatibility

and data transfer?
