Need how to for 6DOF

I'm fairly new to Pro-E and modeling, but I have been
drafting for 10+ years in 2d. I can do most of the basic
connection types while assembling a Assembly. This week
i came across a job that has a three point bridal strap
for lifting a turbine part(Lift-It p/n MLB3-EE2901-3h for
a visual). I've read some posts on many forums and have
discovered that I can use the 6DOF constraint to attach
the straps to the top ring. This will allow me to move
the strap hooks to the three lift points of the part easier than doing all the math for angles and ring
height. Plus this will give me a great part for my
library to modify for other jobs.any help would be
great, but i'm a visual learner. if so inclined can
someone make a video on how to use the 6DOF function?

Thanks a huge amount!
Pete

i could also work with a written explanation also, if
anybody is able. this way i can at least have a starting
point that i can fumble through and if someone comes up
with a video i could compare notes.

Thanks again,
Peter

BigPete, You are over thinking the problem!

The sling can be defined using sketches. Each leg is defined by the pick up point then constrained by the lenght of each strap to locate the main load point!

Basic drafting!
