in the 'part' interface of proe
how do you move objects freely
like in a real CAD program?

does anyone have any recommendations?

package the component in the assembly or constrain by orintation and use the drag to move.

proe is a real cad package.

What kind of objects are you trying to move in part mode?
Your question isn't clear.

You can move each individual feature by using Move command, however this doesn't make any sense since position of a features can be redefined by altering dimensions that define feature's position - although, one by one.


There is workaround to move all the features at once, though. Create Group of all the features and then apply Move command.

If you want to move parts freely on a assembly, just hold Alt(right) and drag the part with the mouse.
