Modeling a pinched tube

Ok, I haven't done much surfacing, and I have neither ISDX nor the piping extension, but I need to model a pinched tube. I have kind of a kludgy model that I came up with, using a blend, but I'm not happy with it. I used four different sections, the last three an eighth of an inch apart. It looks like crap, to be honest.

I've also tried various other methods, including a VSS and a swept blend, but it's been a while since I tried those two.

I did a blend in sheetmetal, too, at one point, and that only had three sections defining the blend. If I tried to make the surfaces a smooth blend, rather than a straight one, it failed. Straight looks choppy, though.

This is for a burner tube, pinched and welded at the far end.

Thanks,

Tracy
