Anyone have any ideas, tips, techniques, etc. for modeling a bicycle-type chain? I need to model a 60 link closed chain, .1475 pitch. HELP!

On a similar note -- anyone know if someone has ever modeled a wire rope? Even just a cable, as in the classical 'ideal cable' in cable pulley arrangement, for example.

I need to model something where actuation of parts is applied through cables.

I have similar problem (indrawing),I have created chain assy.s of fixed lengths and by using combination of these I wish to assemble them for various combinations but when I change their fitment/assy path their individual drawing changes which i don't want to since assembly /fitment of these can vary for assy to assy
