Mechanism of cam on discrete surfaces

Hello everyone!

The attached pictures show the a cover is opening, its hinge surface touchs on

a slidingblock which is allowed to be moved vertically:

1) Picture 0 shows, the construction, Picture 1 shows sliding blocksurface A touchs with hinge surface B.

2) Picture 2 to Picture3 showssurface Agoes to middle andend position of surface B (By usingthe cam/follower method, Mechanism is ok)

3) When the cover continues to rotate counter-clockwise direction, in picture 3, surface C of hinge which will take up the job ofsurface B will press on surface A andthe sliding block will be moved further downward.During thismoment, surface B will seperate fromA.

Can anyone have an idea how to figure outthe mechanism of above item 3)which progressively takes transition for the cam surface A goes from surface B to C.

Thanks in advance for the helping.

You need to make sure you create two separate cam pairs, one for surfaces A-B and one for surfaces A-C. Make sure you follow the rule of "continuous" edges for your surface outlines. This means you can have no sharp transitions between the curves that create the profile of your extruded surfaces you wish touse for your cams.

Cheers,
