Material Parameters Note Length

In the .mat file under description there is a nice paragraph size area to enter the material description but it only allows for 80 characters. This is alot shorter than it sounds and a little shorter that we need. Can this be increased?

I have no idea aboutwhy it's 80 characters or how to increase this number.


But I have a workaround idea

. I think you might be able to use 2 parameters in the material file to get the full name.


Write the name in the description field until you run out of characters and then write in another field the rest of the name.


And then write a relation to combine them, in part createa parameter string, then in relations write something like:


material2=material_param("description")+material_param("bend _table")


Then show &material2 in drawing.


PS: 80 characters are not enough?

What materials do you use. I use small descriptions like steel1020, c18150, stainless_304 just wondering
