Line visibility for downloaded models

I try to download as many models as possible from manufacturers' web sites, but have a problem with some of them thatI haven't found a solution for. In the 2D drawing, many of these parts appear as purple or magenta lines that stay visible even when they should be hidden. Is there a setting within Pro/E to modify this?

In wildfire 2.0, highlight the view & click Properties, go to the View Display and select Hidden line removal for quilts Yes.

You can also try to repair the geometry. The reason they are surface models is that there are gaps between the surfaces so Pro/E can not create a solid. Sometimes this can be very difficult & time consuming. To avoid this in the future download STEP models instead of IGES.

You don't need to repair the geometry I guess.

In order to enable the HLR settings for x-section views (by the view settings or by the default settings with config.pro option 'hlr_for_quilts'), there are two requirements:
1. the dtl setup option 'show_quilts_in_total_xsecs' MUST be set to 'yes' (the default is 'no')
2. the cross section MUST be created using the option 'Model & Qlts' for the cross section definition
