License Server and Mechanism Design

We have several Solaris 10 Pro/E systems. The license
server is also using Solaris 10.
As of today when attempting to check out Floating Modules
it doesn't work. Been working fine for years prior to
today.

When a user first launches Pro/E running ptcstatus on the
license server it shows them connected.
When they attempt to check out a floating module. "There
are no floating modules currently available"
A subsequent ptcstatus shows the user no longer
connected.
A 2nd attempt at floating modules brings up the window to
chose modules, but then the options are grayed out.
ptcstatus still shows them not connected.

If I go to an old Pentium III computer running Win2K, the
floating modules work as usual.

Nothing has changed with the computers since yesterday
and they're Solaris machines so now normal Windows
firewall issues.

Anyone ever seen something like this?

Not on Solaris machines. We have only Dell workstations running on XP. I don't know if this helps, but when we have had something similar it was normally the port being used by another application. You may want to check for conflicts with port 7788 in both your server and the workstations.

For windows, it's notmally caused by an application called AT&T Connection manager, a browser toolbar or a third party firewall. Uninstalling/disabling them normally does the trick.
