import export jpg

Just started using pro engineer {education version} in place of ProDesktop.
<div>In prodesktop you could browse to any BMP picture file and use as a back ground, or surface.</div>
<div>Tired to do this in pro-engineer - but no joy - no browse. </div>
<div>Cannot find a way of using own picture files, as opposed to PTC's supplied backgrounds {walls in a room & sky etc}.</div>
<div>Went into PTC program files on my C drive, found the folder that
contains room walls, but not any graphic file I have ever come across.</div>
<div>Watched the pro - engineer demo video file, clearly some of the
images, nay all of the images, have used picture files as the
backgrounds. Is this a limitation in the education version - i.e. the
professional version must be able to do this ????????</div>
<div>I had hoped it would import GIFs, BMP and JPG etc.</div>
<div>Any ideas?</div>
<div>Cheers

also cannot find how to export as a jpg yet?

Try going into View > Color and Appearances, and from the Map tab you can use a BMP, JPG, or any other picture file as a Bump, Texture, or Decal, and apply that to a surface.

From the Room Editor (for the background) you can use a Saved Appearance (as above) in the form of a .dmt file.

In standard mode of Pro E, you can generate a picture from File > Save a Copy. In Results mode of Mechanica, this should be available as File > Export (or perhaps Export Results).

All this functionality should be available in the Student / Training edition.
