How to perform a rotational analysis?

New member
I have a mechanism with a spinning sub-assembly. I need to analyze the sub-assembly to determine if it is balanced around it's axis of rotation.

Is Mechanica the right tool for the job?

If so could someone point me in the right direction on how to get started? Anyone know of a tutorial out there that could help?

Thanks.

Hello fiebigc
Yes, You can do this.

To Define Centrifugal Loads
- Select Insert>Centrifugal Load
- Select one of the following from the Angular Velocity and Angular
Acceleration lists to specify magnitude and direction

I found out how to perform this analysis. It's not done in Mechanica but rather in Mecahanism. I didn't realize the difference between the two before. If define you create a dynamic analysis you can specify a radial force measurement and a radial moment measurement.
