Another little trick that works nice is entering 0 as the gap distance. Then you will see the acceptable range, then select a value just just under the upper limit. For example if the range is something like .0305 to 3.0474, I might enter a value of 3.00 and use auto select. Once the the edges are selected, zip gaps. This method works pretty well most if not all the time. I usually do this before going in and moving verticies. Or depending on the modules you have, you can create features after the import and then collapse them back into the import feature.
