Family Table Dimension Highlight?

Adinkent

New member
Hi all.

When I am constucting a family table I think what would happen if someone else uses the model and understands what each dimension in the talbe is refering to. With features I think its straight forward as you see the feature number (Extrude7 etc) but dimensions only give the dimension anotnation (d4 etc). I know you can rename the dimension anotation to whatever you wish and it shows in the family table but it would be easier if you punch in the dimension name and the dimension is shown on the model.

Is this possible?

I find it anoying to through every feature as if I was going to edit it to find a particular dimension.

Any ideas?

You can also define parameters with meaningful names and then assign the dimensions to the parameters.

e.g.

PARAMETERS CAN BE ... HEIGHT, LENGTH, WIDTH AND SO ON.....

Assign the dimensions (instead of typing the value, type "= height") to the parameters...

Add the parameters to the family table.
