Exporting Data to Supplier - Methods?

Hello,

An outside supplier is looking for the basic shape or outline of our machines so they can build they product around it. I need to send this supplier CAD data. We are using Proe and they are a Solidworks house.

What methods are folks using to send outside suppliers data? Or what would you suggest, Shrinkwrap? Iges?

Please help. Thank you in advance for your time and insight.

I always find out what option the supplier would like to suit his software

I would send an IGES of a Shrinkwrap model...


Shrinkwrap = eliminates inner details and possible intellectual property


IGES = turns it into a format your supplier can read.
