Envelope in Mechanism

The envelope in mechanism is a mesh. What is that mesh
used for and am I correct to convert the mesh envelope to a solid for cutting
cross sections? We are speaking at the
Badgerland Pro/E conference on Friday and wanted to get a general consensus on
the board.

I and Aaron who is doing
this talk will always mention mcadcentral.com as a valuable resource to the audience.

Bart and Aaron,

I have not looked in WF 2 or greater to see the steps, but you can also use the envelope to create a quilt, I think it is in analysis feature, or was, and than you pick the motion analysis, cannot remember all of the steps. But doing so allows you to have a complete envelope of the assy that you can give to someone that just needs the envelope.
Also I believe there is a way to use that envelope to create a simplified rep, you need to make sure that the analysis is saved. I am not sure of all of the steps because they changed all of the menus and such around. If I get time at work monday I'll take a look, just don't have a license in front of me...
