Elements Pro to Creo 1.0

Hey guys

So i was just upgraded from Creo Elements 5 to Creo 1.0, when i was using 5.0 inside of nc i had a little mapkey that read in speeds and feeds from whichever tool i had picked, this would read in my spindle speed and feedrates, along with my depth of cut and step over that i had defined in the tool. So my question is,when i'm using Creo 1.0 can I still access this?I know i can do this when i have the parameters page open, by going to edit, copy from tool? Can icreate a mapkey with a icon and place it on my parameter page?I used do this in 5.0.

Thanks

Yodes,

Most Mapkeys are backwards compatible but since I don't have access to
yours I'm not able to try it out. I'd suggest running it and see if it
works. If the menu items haven't changed and it's due to ui changes you
can edit the mapkey.

Worst comes to worst you can just rerecord it or run it as a trailfile
by running the old version and saving your trail.txt.# as a
MyNCmapkey.txt then you can run it from Tools Trail/Training file and
opening the .txt trailfile. You can use the config option on next line
to step through the trailfile line by line and test that it works.

SET_TRAIL_SINGLE_STEP YES

If the UI for your command has changed you'll most likely get a
trailfile OOS (Out Of Sequence error and will get an error message
stating the line of the trailfile where the issue occurred. There is a
Unix command called Tail that constantly shows the last lines of a file
as it's being edited. Several Windows programs apps csn be used for
showing the lines of your trail.txt.## session file.

You'll see that every command you perform or action you do rotate zoom
pan gets recorded by the trailfile. Maybe SolidWorks "Amateur/E" will
someday learn how to do this from her older brother.

It's always good to have your old version still installed somewhere in
case PTC broke something or you want to test differences in Mapkeys and
other functions. I rremember having to change all my Drawing Selection
Tool mapkey between WF4 and WF5 Different AppsKey options due to active
tab per function. That was funnoying :)

Wrong code enterred really good thing I saved my Post Text before you wiped it MCAD central

MJCole,

Thanks for the info, I think i have found a solution, i found this config option, MFG_PARAM_AUTO_COPY_FROM_TOOL.From the discription it should do exactly what i want, but i havent gotten it to work. im on Creo 1.0 M20 and was wondering if there was a bug with this config option. I'm wondering if this is something PTC has fixed in a later date code.

Thanks,

Yodes

Hey guys

Just curious can anyone get this config option to work? MFG_PARAM_AUTO_COPY_FROM_TOOL

I couldnt get it to work because all my tool parameters are defaulted to Roughing.

Thanks,

Yodes
