Drawing references after save a copy

After I haved saved a copy of an assembly, the subassemblies that are in the assembly have drawings that reference the original subassemblies. This only occurs for my subassemblies.

oldsubassembly & old drawing(references old subassembly)

save a copy

newsubassembly & new drawing(references old subassembly)

I want the new drawing to reference the new subassembly. Is there any reason that during "save a copy" the new drawings dont change there reference to the new subassembly?

You either have to have every drawing in session during the rename to maintain the link, or you have to do this with PDMLink.

In PDMLink make sure you highlight everysub-assy that has a drawing for rename and include the drawing in your selection set during the rename excercise.

Where I work doesnt use PDMLink yet, but keeping the drawings in session seems to work.

Thanks Dave.
