Dimension settings

I am wondering if anyone knows of way to control dimension types through a DTL file. At my company we use decimal dims on part drawings, but I want to use fractions on assembly drawings to make it easier for our welders to measure without having to convert the dimensions. They all use standard carpenter tapes to measure when their assembling parts. Thanks
