Compare models

succello

New member
I'm fairly new to SolidWorks coming from a Pro-e background.

I need to compare two alike models to see what difference there may be. What is the best way to do that. With Pro-e there's a compare command one can use, by features or geometry. Can't seem to find a similar command.

Thanks in advance for any input

You need to use SWUtils for geometry/model comparison. This is an add-in included in SW Premium and may not be available in the standard version.

The poor man's way would be to color each part with contrasting colors, put both parts in an assembly, mating to where both are on top of each other, then looking to see where they differ.

I hope this helps,

Dan
