Cheap stand-alone CAM-program

Hi all,

We (http://www.coek.be/index.cfm) are looking for a CAM-program to do some 3-axis machining (milling). We are in the 'vessel' business (reactors, condensors, heat exchangers...), so our need formilling of specialsis limited to somewhat 20-30 items/year.

Therefore we do not want to spend a fortune on CAM-software.

Could you guys recommend a decent stand-alone CAM programfor our milling-needs?

Thanks,

pHreaC

Dear pHreaC,

I recommend you to use Mastercam. I m sure 2-1/2 axis module might cost less than 3 axis which might also be enough if you don't need 3d surface milling. But if you have Pro/E as a cad system, and if you are expert on it then I recommend an upgrade to Prismatic Milling Package.

Regards,
Oner

You should try Pro Toolmaker which works really good with Pro Engineer and Solidworks, due to the associativity that it can hold between the files.

Its good at 2D, 3D and %axis machining.

You can download it from PTC.com
