Changing Modelcheck location directory

SW

New member
Is it possible to put the to tell Pro/E Wildfire 4 to look for the ModelCheck files, particularly the start .mcs files in a directory other than the default location?

Thanks,

Sam

Use the environment variable MCDIR to make ModelCheck use configuration
files in an alternate location. The value of the environment variable
is the folder that contains the "config" folder that would normally be
in the "modchk/text/usascii" folder (for english language installs).

You can find a mention of it here: http://www.proefaq.com/?page_id=68

Thanks, it seams to be looking in the right place. I was looking for a Pro/Engineer option. I've now changed Envrionment Variables for the computer:

Right-click My Computer, Properties, Advanced tab, Environment Variables

Is this the right procedure or have I achieved the result through some round-about way?

Sam

That will work well if you want to do this for yourself, but it is
probably not the best way if for everyone in your orgranization. A
better approach would be to add the option to a batch file or the .psf
file that is used to start Pro/Engineer.
