bend on a bend, possible?

I've got this part I inherited that I need to modify. It

I'm not a real sheet metal expert but why not create it as a solid in the fully bent state (with both bends) and then convert to sheet metal & unbend? Probably a lot of work so hopefully a sheet metal guru will come up with a better way.

I've sort of come to that conclusion. I tried doing it as a form and that would probably work. But I think I will end up doing this as a thin protrusion. So that my first feature incorporates the bends.


I'd still love to hear some thoughts from the gurus.
