how to import /export emn &emp file in Pr

Dear All,
Iam new to this forum and my greetings to all members of
this forum.

Actually i am a moderate user of Proe4.There is a
requirement from one of my customer.I was given a emn and
emp file and they asked me to import those files in Proe4.
I have no idea about this file format could any one help me
or send me any document about how to import and export
these files.

Hi Ken,
Thanks for your response,i did try the above steps.when i
import the emn file in pro-e it says
ECAD file was imported and in the next step it says
Loading hole charts ,i was waiting for this process to
complete finally it ends up with not responding.

I have attached the Zip file which contains emn & emp
Could you please help me to open and see whether you can
import these files.

Thiscan take a long time because PCB designers love to punch vias everywhere. You can text edit the .emn file and delete all the VIA lines. Search the .emn file for ".DRILLED_HOLES".I would delete all the lines that end in "VIA UNOWNED" and try again. Of course save a copy of the original before you do any editing.


PS. I've got a batch file somewhere that scripts this when I'm doing alot of importing/exporting.

Just to speed pro/e up, dont import vias:
ecad_via_hole_import no

and keep mounting holes etc.
ecad_import_holes_as_features no
