Simple sweep

Guys,

Pulling my hair out over here, just trying to make a
simple sweep. I created a datum curve from points to go
from one surface to another. These surfaces are at
different heights and the normal direction of the
beginning surface and ending surface are 90

you can control the section orientation of the sweep by dimensioning it relative to fixed references outside the section. these dimensions along with sketch constrains you make inside the section sketch, are maintained along the path, and gives you the ability to control your sweep. upload a picture, or better the file itself to get more help.

solidworm,

Thanks for the response. I sketch at the origin,
and the section is fine at that end, the problem is when
it gets the other end of the sweep.

is your datum curve normal to the ending surface?

if not, that might solve your problem....you can constrain
the curve to be normal under "Tangency" option in the menu
manager for the datum curve.

you can also use swept blend feature, you can select the start, end and any sections in between as your input in swept blend.

If you are using the old Sweep function, I would change it to a Variable Section Sweep. You can still create a simple sweep with better controls and the standard (dashboard) interface.

Under the Options tab select Constant section and you will get a Merge ends option.

I also had this issue using VSS on a curve in 3D space.
In my situation, I used a graph to control the VSS.
Through trial and error, this method was very effective.
