Repeat region - BOM table

proboy

Hi Friends!!

I have BOM table generated with repeat region,I have around 70 items in it,

I have removbed item 25 from the assembly model,so automatically in drawing BOM table the 26th item becomes as 25. I want to avoid it. How do we do it?

I dont want item 25 to display. In BOM table after 24 i need 26 only, !!!!

Any help please!!!

You want to "Fix Index". This locks the item numbers. But note, if you add a new item to the assembly, ProE will use the empty positions. In this case, the next item you add to the assembly will show up as item 25. You'll then have to "Fix Index"to71 if that is your desire.

Fixing the index can cause problems. You may need to
create a custom index parameter in each part and use that
parameter to drive the index in your table. Then you sort
by
the index.

1.Create INDEX parameter (integer) in start parts
for assemblies/parts

2.When family table instances are used, include the
INDEX parameter as a variable in the table

3.Under settings-->tree columns, show INDEX
parameter to allow easy modification of the parameter in
all parts

4.In drawing, sort repeat region by &asm.mbr.INDEX
in order to sort by your new custom index parameter.

If you go into BOM Balloons - Set Parameter, you first
select your Repeat Region and then select the column that
has the part number
or name in it. It should then change all of your BOM
balloons to the part name or number.

If you create the parameter in your assembly and show the
column in your model tree, you can click the empty spot
next to each part to manually enter the parameter without
opening each part.

I use "Fix Index" in almost all my assemblies because I want to have the items in a logical order close to the order the parts are used in assembly or another order that will help finding a particular part.

The problem I have might be a solution for you. Every time a component is changed, its number is not shown anymore. For example, if BOM has 30 items and item 25 is replaced by another one, then the new item becomes 31 and position 25 is not shown. I have to manually delete the index (I don't have ProE right now, but I will post the steps later). After deleting the index, the position 25 is used again.

In your case, before deleting that component, "fix index" it and then delete it. Its position will be skipped in BOM.
