Displaying multiple designs in Mechanica

New member
Hey guys, I'm new to using Mechanica and only have the
license for Mechanica Lite.

What I wanted to know was whether it's possible to display
multiple designs in the same results window? For example to
compare the shear stress generated in two different joint
designs.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not familiar with Mechanica Lite,but I use Pro/Mechanica.
In Pro/Mechanica you can just open another analysis (or the same analysis) and pick a result (stress, displacement, ...) that can be displayed next to another result.
This way it is very easy to compare results.

Best regards,

John Bijnens

Can't say about PROE/Mechanica Lite but you can do it in complete version....

I might be missing something really obvious but I haven't
been able to run an analysis and then run a second one
without overwriting the original..

No No u dont do like that.. First do different analysis seprately then load the results simultaneously to the two windows. I hope u got my point....

This is what I've been doing but I must be going wrong
somewhere...
I run the analysis on the first design, then 'File > Save'
in the results window. Then I close it, open the second
design and run the analysis again. When I go 'Insert >
Results Window from File' and select the results from my
first design though it just displays my second design
twice...

You have to do 2 analysis seprately. Then open the first one, and after that open the second one. Pro/Mechanica will put the second results aside the first one.

It's very simple. What's the problem?

Why do you want to save the first results window and then close it?
The only problem u can find is when u copy the first result window, 'cause you can select the second analysis but u'll find the name of the first in the window (I don't know why..). But the results will be different between the two analysis. U can overcame this issue opening the 2 analysis without copying the first one.

Object-oriented architectonics transforms the conceptual archetypal
produced in acquisitive assay to yield annual of the constraints imposed
by the called architectonics and any non-functional abstruse or ecology
constraints, such as transaction throughput, acknowledgement time,
run-time platform, development environment, or programming language.

Ah I found the problem I think. I tried it on one of the
computers in the labs at my uni (which have the full
version of Mechanica) and it was very easy just as you guys
have said.

The problem I think is that you can only run one analysis
at a time using Mechanic Lite.

Thanks for all your help guys!
