Corner slowdown with profile milling

Henky123

New member
How do I work with corner slowdown
when I use "profile milling".

My parameters are:

CORNER_SLOWDOWN: YES
SLOWDOWN_LENGTH: 10
SLOWDOWN_PERCENT: 0.5
NUMBER_SLOWDOWN_STEPS: 5

The problem is that the CL data stays the same
if I use the corner slowdown or not???

I'd like to use the slowdown as marked with the red
circles.

Thanks in advance for any tip.^

Bart,
Your parameters are correct. I am using W4 and I have only been able to use this functionality in Volume milling. Works great for roughing and with or profile only.

In earlier version we have the post take care of these things.

Hi Tony, thank you for your answer.
So these parameters are in profile milling
just for fun...

I'm also using W4 so I'll try to get the same
result with volume milling.

Looing at the parameters the slowdown_length is set to 10. Number_slowdown_steps is set to 5. So multiply 10 * 5 and the first slowdown of the feed rate would start at a distance of50 before the corner. Now if 50 is not possible then the slowdown will not be output. Since it appears you working in MM try setting the slowdown_length to 2.54. Why are you using so many number_slowdown_steps?

CORNER_SLOWDOWN: YES
SLOWDOWN_LENGTH: 10
SLOWDOWN_PERCENT: 0.5
NUMBER_SLOWDOWN_STEPS: 5

Well, in fact I've tryed every setting,
from 1 step and 1mm to the above but nothing works!

I've just found out that these parameters just
don't work with "profile milling", they are there just
for fun.

Hi Henky

This functionality is available for Volume, Roughing, Reroughing and Local Milling (Prev. NC Seq.) NC Steps only.
