Do you know how to create flexible geometry in a symbol? Eg., you want an arrow with a variable length tail on it so that you can place the symbol and then drag the tail out longer. Actual application is to have a dumb section view arrow.
AFAIK, it's not possible. You can have instances, long medium, short or you can redefine on the fly (but that's a PITA). Can you just attach with a normal arrowhead? The arrowhead will drag.
