Hey all,

This is driving me mad!

Why can I not hide a feature in a part model. Everyone else in the dept. can, so why am I the odd one out.

Using WF4

are you using "remove" feature instead of "hide" ?? pick om the surf untill it highlights (becomes pink) , then "edit - remove"

when I worked as a contractor back in the 90's we would devise schemes to play tricks on the other contractors just to drive people mad. I would have come up with a better one than that to drive you mad tho. ;)

In part models you can only hide/unhide non-solid
geometry. This includes surfaces, datums, curves,
etc... but not solids like a solid extrude or a sweep.

Are you talking about permanently hiding a feature? In other word hiding a feature so that the next time you open the model it is still hidden?

If so you can either place the feature on a layer and hide the layer. Don't forget to right click and hit "Save Status".

Or hide the feature and then go to the layer tree. Right click on "Hidden Item" and click "Save Status".

Either of which will keep the non-solid features hidden.
